Call 1930

Investment scams usually start with trust. Victims are added to WhatsApp or Telegram groups where fake experts post daily profits and screenshots.

The group then pushes a private app or website. The app shows profit, but withdrawals fail until the victim pays more fees. The money is not invested in the market; it is moved to scam accounts.

Never install trading apps from chat links. Use only registered platforms and verify the company through official regulatory sources before adding money.

Real police, banks, and cyber cells do not ask you to stay on a private video call, share OTPs, or move money for verification.

What to do immediately

Disconnect from the scammer

End the call or chat. Do not continue because the scammer sounds official or angry.

Call 1930 if money moved

The first hour gives the best chance of freezing transfers.

Save evidence

Keep transaction IDs, phone numbers, links, screenshots, and call records.

Protection checklist

  • Never share OTPs, PINs, passwords, or screen-sharing access.
  • Verify urgent claims using official phone numbers only.
  • Talk to a trusted person before moving money under pressure.
  • Report suspicious calls and messages quickly.
